Gorgeous violet Charoite forms the the piece, its extraordinary feathered patterns resembling currents of purple flame or wings within stone. Faceted gold-plated hematite brings grounding and flashes of golden light, while a Clear Quartz shield hangs at the center. Its geometric facets catch the light and scatter tiny rainbows across the crystal, amplifying the energy with the rainbow ray.

Handcrafted on the Fall Equinox, the mala is woven throughout with the numerology of 10 and 2: 10 for completion, transformation, and the beginning hidden within every ending; 2 for balance, polarity, and the sacred meeting place between light and darkness.

Charoite: A Stone Between Earth and Cosmos

Found in an exceptionally limited geological region of Siberia, Charoite is a complex silicate mineral whose unusual structure gives polished material its characteristic swirling, silky appearance.

Its feathery patterns have always reminded me of a violet sister to Seraphinite — stones that visually seem to speak the same language of wings, movement, and the celestial realms.

Energetically, I associate Charoite with the transpersonal chakras above the Crown, particularly the Soul Star and Stellar Gateway. It is a stone of cosmic consciousness, spiritual transformation, intuition, and energetic sovereignty.

It feels especially resonant for this emerging Aquarian Age, inviting expanded consciousness while reminding us to remain fully embodied within our own energetic field.

The Clear Quartz Shield

At the heart of the mala hangs a beautifully carved Clear Quartz shield.

Quartz is composed of silicon dioxide and develops its remarkable clarity as silica crystallizes into an ordered three-dimensional lattice. In crystal traditions, Clear Quartz has become one of the quintessential stones of clarity, amplification, purification, and focused intention.

The many facets of this shield interact with the light, creating unexpected flashes and tiny rainbows as the pendant moves. The shield therefore becomes both symbol and prism: protecting the sacred center while allowing light to enter, transform, and emerge in an entirely new spectrum.
